REFURBISHMENT, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF ROLLING STOCK
Our experience in the maintenance, repair and modernisation of railway rolling stock dates back more than 100 years, when the first maintenance depot for narrow-gauge steam locomotives was opened in the area of Tallinn-Väike station. Over the years, the maintenance depot for steam locomotives was converted to accommodate broad-gauge rolling stock, and it has primarily been used to maintain and repair diesel locomotives since the late 1980s. At present, we maintain and repair various types of railway rolling stock in our modern depot in Maardu.
We have serviced and repaired modern locomotives in addition to older shunting and freight locomotives such as TEM, TEP, TEM TMH, CME, 2TE116, TGM. We have a wealth of experience in modernising locomotives. For example, we have restored the TGM23-B shunting locomotive, which underwent extensive work to include a new powertrain, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. In addition, we have also adapted the TEP-70 passenger train locomotive for freight carriage, taking all the necessary steps from design to certification of the converted locomotive.
